Skomer A trip to the Puffins
My first trip to Skomer an island off the Welsh coast. I had seen a lot about it on TV and thought I would go and see the Puffins.
I joined a group of photographers from a forum who I had never meet before.
It was a 6-hour drive to the campsite for the overnight stay. It was close to where we would get the boat in the morning to get to the Island It’s about a 20-minute crossing. I would be staying on the island for 2 nights.
After the crossing, it’s a steep climb up cliff steps to a waiting tractor to take all my gear including my food to the center.
The 2 days passed so quickly it was a blur.
While driving home I knew I would return and stay a lot longer. It was a great experience.
